HIGHS

V-12 pulls at our emotions and drives like a giant ballet dancer, despite the fact that it looks foreign after all these years.

LOWS

Transmissions are difficult to endure, removing the roadster's top is a pain, and interior storage is scarce.

VERDICT

The Aventador's final version is a flashy, noisy, and wonderfully beautiful hyper car.

Overview

The 2022 Lamborghini Aventador's is the epitome of a hyper car, with a raging 769-hp V-12 engine and a unique appearance. While competitors like the Ferrari SF90 embrace the future of electrification, the Limbo’s 12-cylinder engine guzzles gas like a frat guy guzzles booze. Its scissor doors, broad and low proportions, and highly vented bodywork function as a mobile cinema theatre that plays the Fast and Furious movies all the time.

It’s extremely adjustable cabin has enough capacity for two passengers, but there's not much storage for loose goods. The Aventador's screaming soundtrack can be activated with a thrust of the right foot, and the enormous machine's unexpected agility can be experienced by spinning the tiller. While the roadsters laborious roof removal and outdated automatic gearbox are both a little affront, the 2022 Aventador's otherworldly abilities and distinctive design make up for it.

What's New for the Year 2022?

For quite some time, we've predicted that the Aventador's will be phased out, and it appears that the 2022 model year will be the final one. Lamborghini is producing a limited quantity (600 units worldwide) of a specially outfitted Aventador's called the Ultimate to commemorate the end of an era. This ultimate send-off boasts a tuned-up version of the Aventador's S's ubiquitous V-12 engine, as well as weight-saving methods that make it lighter than the departing model. The Ultimo will also have more torque sent to the rear wheels than the S, as well as standard carbon-ceramic brakes and some distinct, if minor, aesthetic features.

Pricing and Which One to Buy

Ultimate coupe: $450,000 (EST.)

Ultimate roadster$500,000 (EST.) 0 $100k, $200k, $300k, $400k, $500k, $600k, $700k, $800k.

Lamborghini hasn't revealed the pricing of the final Aventador's edition, but we estimate it to be between the S and SVJ versions from last year. Only 350 coupes and 250 roadster versions will be produced, with 350 coupes and 250 roadster types sold worldwide. We desire the roadster regardless of the six-figure asking price so we can fully immerse ourselves in the exhilarating sounds of its V-12 engine.

Performance, Engine, and Transmission

The Aventador's engine is a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V-12 that produces 769 horsepower and is placed in the middle of the car. A seven-speed automatic manual gearbox sends the engine's 531 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels. We haven't driven the Ultimate version, but we have driven the SVJ (which stands for Superveloce Jota) and its roofless cousin and have experienced their incredible acceleration and kidney-crushing cornering forces.

The massive vehicles shook their way through the bends, but their amazing grip and four-wheel steering systems let them to reverse direction on a dime. We also tested the Aventador's S and Aventador's S roadster, and concluded that the latter's top-down capability makes it the superior car for hearing the V-12's exciting tone.

Real-World MPG and Fuel Economy

The Aventador's is one of the least fuel-efficient automobiles on the market, with fuel efficiency ratings in the single digits. On our 75-mph highway fuel-economy route, which replicates real-world mpg and is part of our rigorous testing regimen, we haven't had the opportunity to put the government's predictions to the test.

Cargo, Interior, and Comfort

Every Aventador's has a set of scissor doors that swing open, as is customary for Lamborghini. Although the low-slung inside is showing its age, it may be upgraded with a range of high-end materials and customized options. Small things will not fit in the cabin, and baggage capacity is restricted. The dashboard has a digital gauge cluster that changes layout according on which driving mode you choose Strata, Sport, or Corse and Ego mode lets you to customize the engine, steering, and suspension settings.

Connectivity and Infotainment

The basic infotainment system on the Aventador's is outdated, with antiquated visuals and clumsy integration. The firm also provides a performance data recorder that stores lap times and track data, in addition to voice commands and Apple Car Play compatibility. If desired, customers may choose for the enhanced audio system, which includes door-mounted subwoofers and dashboard-mounted tweeters.
