Top Amazing  Facts of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip

As far as foldable smartphones go, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip was top-notch when it launched in 2015. It's hard to argue with the quality of the hinge and display when compared to other foldable smartphones such as Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold series. If you don't need foldable tech, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G with its quicker CPU is a far better choice. Otherwise, the Galaxy S21 series is a much safer pick.

Reviewing the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is an odd experience. It's strange, not because it's awful.

In most cases, a review serves as a kind of peer assessment. We evaluate a thing by comparing it to what the manufacturer promises it should be, and then by comparing it to the alternatives. Is Product A a better buy than Product B in terms of value? How much better is the camera and how long does it last on the battery? What would you rate the quality of the screen as? When it comes to smartphones, customers have a plethora of alternatives to pick from. Which one deserves your hard-earned cash?

The Galaxy Z Flip from Samsung excels at a wide range of tasks and does quite well in fact. It's fast, has a good battery life, and runs on the most recent version of Android. However, it has a feature that 99.9% of other smartphones do not have: the ability to fold in half.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip's value proposition is essentially its design. The Z Flip's internals are on par with those of a flagship smartphone from late 2019, so you're getting something unique for a premium, but it's also becoming a touch antiquated.

I could compare the Flip to Motorola's Razor clamshell phone series for the rest of this review. If you're looking for the short version, Samsung's phone offers greater power and superior build quality at a lesser cost.

This is especially true now that the phone's MSRP has been reduced from $1,380 to $1,299.

Instead, I'd want to assist you in determining whether or not the possibility of this foldable design is worth the additional cost.

Where has the folding gone wrong?

In the mobile industry, clamshell-style phones like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip are referred to as "clamshells."

When you're not using it, it seems like a typical smartphone, but when you do, it folds down like a clam to reduce in height by half.

Because it's folded, the phone is really two times as thick as it is when it's open. However, if you want your phone to fold shut, you'll have to make this compromise.
Samsung has developed a new technology dubbed Ultra-Thin Glass to help with this (UTG). The glass used in the Samsung Galaxy Fold and Motorola is almost as flexible as plastic OLED displays.

Samsung also used UTG in the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G, the company's successors to the Galaxy Z Fold. Because it's so thin, the glass on a smartphone display isn't as scratch-resistant as you'd expect. Zack Nelson of Jerry Rig Everything performed a disassembly on the Galaxy Z Flip and discovered that the screen could be readily pierced.

However, the glass on the phone is well-protected when folded, and I had no problems with mine in this regard. In spite of this, with modern display technology, it's only normal to be concerned about lifespan. To counter this, Samsung provides a $119 one-time display replacement within the first year of ownership as an incentive to customers. What good is a folding clamshell phone if you can't use it? Regardless of how evasive my response may seem, my response is that it depends.

Advantages Samsung Galaxy Z Flip

The major advantage of a clamshell folding phone is that it is half as tall when not in use. As a result, it has a smaller overall footprint, is more secure, and can be carried in tighter spaces like pockets and purses. With a 21.9:9 display as large as the Galaxy Z Flip's, the slimmer design allows it to fit in a lot more places.

On many occasions, throughout the evaluation time, I was alarmed that I had accidentally left my phone unattended on a desk or table. In reality, the phone was buried far deeper in my pocket than I had anticipated. My breast pocket is really a surprise practical spot to keep my foldable smartphone, which I promptly forgot about.
